Secondary hypertension is a condition in which the cause of high blood pressure is known. For example – Sleep apnea, kidney problem, endocrine disease, cirrhosis of liver, pregnancy, certain medicines like Non-Steroid Anti-Inflammatory Drugs(NSAID), steroids, smoking, alcohol etc. The high blood pressure is secondary to another disease or disorder. This type of hypertension can be controlled or cured.
