What is a Heart Disease?

Coronary heart disease(constitutes more than 95% of heart patients) can be called the Disease of Ignorance, as it develops due to the lack of knowledge. A human body is one of the best machines in the world and if maintained properly it cannot develop a snag. Heart disease is actually a result of a long period of mismanagement of heart by the wrong lifestyle. With the wrong food, excessive fats and cholesterol, lack of control of diabetes and high blood pressure, less exercise, smoking and consumption of tobacco and excessive stress-people start developing blockages in the heart tubes. Starting is always from zero. Repetition of the same, year after year, the blockages grow until the blockages reach the range of about 70%. And that’s when heart disease is diagnosed.
A little less known name of the disease is”Ischemia”-(Shortage of oxygen). All the problem of the CHD occurs due to the shortage of oxygen(of course due to the blockage in the tubes supplying blood to the heart muscles). “Ischemia” is a more scientific term. CHD is also referred to as the Ischemic Heart Disease of IHD.
