Soybean :Cholesterol-Lowering Food

 

Soy flour (Soya Ata) is made from roasted soyabeans that have been grinded into a fine powder.



Advantages


1. Soy foods helps to prevent heart disease by reducing total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein (LDL), blood pressure and possible preventing plaque buildup in the arteries.

2. Vegetarians have known for years that foods rich in soy protein offer a good alternative to meat, poultry.


3. Isoflavones present in soy products may be a factor in helping to prevent bone density loss.


4. Cancer protective effects from soy are due to the group of plant chemicals known as isoflavones, particularly genistein and daidzein.
Soy flour can be mixed with wheat flour for chapati making. 25 gm of soy protein a day may reduce the risk of heart disease. Soyabean, Soy milk, Toffu(Soy Paneer), Soy flour are the sources of Soy Protein.
